Flying Hooks
Bos & Couvee's Flying Hooks rejects the wall-mounted coat rack entirely, suspending rubber hangers from the ceiling on individual adjustable cables. The result is as functional as it is theatrical.
Each hanger is shaped after a vertebra, a form that holds garments securely while reading as an object in its own right. The rubber material absorbs the weight of coats without distorting their shoulders, a practical detail embedded in an otherwise sculptural gesture.
- Available as a single hook with a ceiling mount designed for freeform, custom installations
- Available as a set of four on a square ceiling mount for a composed, symmetrical grouping
- Cable length is adjustable, allowing each hook to be set at the height that suits the space
Wabnitz Editions brings together designers whose work operates at the boundary between object and environment. Flying Hooks belongs to that tradition, transforming an everyday act of storage into something that animates a room.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the Flying Hooks made of?
The hangers are formed from rubber, shaped to resemble a vertebra. This form holds garments securely and distributes weight evenly, preventing shoulder distortion in heavier coats.
How are the Flying Hooks mounted to the ceiling?
Each hook hangs on its own individual cable that anchors to a ceiling mount. The single hook version includes a discrete mount suited to custom, scattered installations, while the set of four uses a square mount that groups the hooks in a uniform arrangement.
Can the cable height be adjusted?
Yes. The cable length for each hook can be set to the user's preference, allowing the hangers to float at different heights within a space.
Who are the designers Bos & Couvee?
Bos & Couvee is a Dutch design duo whose work explores the relationship between everyday function and unexpected form, often drawing on biological or structural references to reframe familiar objects.
Can multiple single hooks be combined into a larger installation?
The single hook is specifically designed with this in mind. Its individual ceiling mount allows hooks to be placed at any position across a ceiling, enabling custom arrangements of any scale or density.
