An icon of contemporary design, Italian architect and designer Mario Bellini's enduring Cab Armchair features a striking form that balances function and comfort with ease. The chair was conceived as an extension of the body - a skeleton structure of tubular steel is covered by a skin of stretched leather. Showcasing his mastery of design detailing and creativity, the chair features no external bolts or permanent fastens, instead, using zippers running along the inside of the legs and beneath the seat to keep the fine leather taught. The Cab Armchair remains as fresh today as it did when it was introduced in 1977.
