When design embraces nature.
Overlooking the Veronese shores of Lake Garda, in Torri del Benaco, Villa Dellago is a study in contemporary architecture that pairs lightness and transparency with a measured response to the landscape. Designed by Milan-based JM Architecture with the aim of minimizing earthworks, the villa dissolves the boundary between interior and exterior, opening panoramic views of the lake through expansive glazing on all four sides. The studio developed a concept that capitalizes on the site's natural slope, articulating the house across a main floor and a semi-basement that opens partially toward the water, where furnishings, finishes, and fittings integrate seamlessly with both the architecture and the surrounding terrain.
Every detail is conceived to bind the residence to its setting. The principal floor offers panoramic views from every room through its full-height windows, creating spaces where natural light animates a palette of warm tones. The lower level, shaped by the gentle slope of the terrain, takes on a more intimate character while maintaining a direct connection with the outdoors through two patios that frame the garden and reveal carefully composed glimpses of the lake. A white aluminum framework defines the perimeter of the pavilion, while the facade of the master bathroom volume is clad in wood-plastic composite slats with an oak finish, echoing the natural hues of the site. On the south side, the swimming pool extends the line of the building, reinforcing the visual continuity between architecture and water.
The interiors are the product of a close collaboration between Interni and JM Architecture, distinguished by bespoke furnishings and refined materials: oak boiserie, bathrooms enriched with marble surfaces, and an open kitchen that integrates technical equipment with discretion. The furniture, selected from among the most respected names in the industry, is light and understated, amplifying the luminosity of the rooms and establishing a balanced dialogue between design and nature.
Villa Dellago reinterprets the classic model of the lakeside villa, arriving at a measured equilibrium between architecture and landscape. Premium materials, meticulous detailing, and a sustained dialogue with the context transform the residence into an immersive and harmonious living experience.
