The model unit is an underrated category of interiors work. Done badly, it reads as a sales tool. Done well, as it has been here in this Shanghai apartment designed by Massimo Castagna, it operates as a kind of architectural invitation, a space that flatters the future occupant by leaving room for them in the picture. Castagna's plan is restrained in a way that asks the visitor to imagine rather than receive.

Interni's Creative Team handled the interior in full, which in a project like this means more than sourcing furniture. The color palette was developed from the architecture outward, settling on tones soft enough to register as backdrop but considered enough to read as decisions. Fabrics and finishes were specified in parallel, the whole composition tuned to the kind of polished neutrality that lets a buyer see their own life inside the rooms without first having to edit out someone else's.
