Vincenzo De Cotiis is an Italian architect and designer born in 1958 in Gonzaga, Italy. He studied architecture at the Politecnico di Milano and founded his studio in 1997, later developing a practice that spans architecture, interiors, and collectible design. He is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of the international collectible design scene, with a body of work defined by hand-crafted, one-of-a-kind and limited-edition pieces produced in his atelier in Milan.
De Cotiis is especially recognized for transforming salvaged and luxurious materials into objects that feel both archaeological and futuristic. His work often combines reflective surfaces, recycled fiberglass, stone, wood, Murano glass, and cast metals, using imperfection, patina, and material layering as sources of beauty rather than flaws to conceal. Across furniture, lighting, and interiors, he creates pieces that hover between sculpture and function, bringing together historical memory, material experimentation, and a distinctly sensual sense of form.
