Luis Arrivillaga

Born 1980 | Guatemala

Luis Alberto Arrivillaga is a Guatemalan designer born in 1980 whose work is defined by formal clarity, structural logic, and a refined understanding of materials. He studied mechanical engineering at Rafael Landivar University and graduated in 2005. Soon after, he moved to Milan, where he developed his practice within the context of contemporary Italian design and began building a body of work that bridges technical discipline with a calm, visually resolved sensibility.

Over the years, Arrivillaga has created furniture and objects for brands including Living Divani and Ex.t, developing pieces that often rely on simple geometries, visible construction, and an understated architectural presence. His own project descriptions reveal a recurring interest in balance, proportion, and the expressive potential of wood and other essential materials. Works such as Ceiba, Panchina, and Stan show a language that is minimal without feeling austere, bringing together utility, precision, and a quiet sense of character.
