Joaquim Ruiz Millet is a Spanish architect, editor, writer, and gallerist born in Barcelona in 1955. He is known for a multidisciplinary practice that extends beyond conventional product design into publishing, exhibition making, cultural research, and the recovery of significant modern works. In 1989, he founded Galeria H2O in Barcelona with Ana Planella, creating a platform through which he developed a broad cultural presence as a gallery owner, curator, editor, and author.
Ruiz Millet is especially recognized in design history for his role in reviving the work of architect Barba Corsini. During the restoration of La Pedrera in 1991, he rediscovered the PD2 floor lamp and other original designs that were at risk of being discarded, then collaborated with Corsini to relaunch them for a new audience. That effort helped return an important chapter of mid-century Barcelona design to contemporary relevance. Beyond this, public profiles also present him as an architect, writer, and editor whose work moves fluidly between design culture, literary practice, and objects, with later collaborations extending into textile design through brands such as nanimarquina.
