EOOS is an Austrian design studio founded in Vienna in 1995 by Martin Bergmann, Gernot Bohmann, and Harald Gruendl. The three studied together at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and developed a collaborative practice grounded in what they call poetic analysis, a method that looks at rituals, images, and cultural memory as starting points for design. This approach has become central to the studio's identity, giving their work a balance of functional rigor and subtle emotional depth.
Working across furniture, product design, retail, and social design, EOOS has collaborated with leading international brands including Carl Hansen & Son, bulthaup, Herman Miller, Keilhauer, Walter Knoll, Duravit, and Poltrona Frau. Their work is widely recognized for uniting historical awareness with contemporary precision, creating objects that feel calm, intelligent, and deeply considered. Public profiles also note that the studio has received more than 250 design awards, including the Compasso d'Oro, reinforcing its status as one of Austria's most influential design practices.
