Damian Williamson

Born 1974 | United Kingdom

Damian Williamson was a British product and furniture designer whose work was distinguished by calm sculptural presence, technical intelligence, and an understated sense of luxury. Born in London in 1974, he graduated in 1998 from Kingston University London's Department of Product Design, where his thesis focused on advanced materials. After collaborating on a range of design projects in Stockholm, he founded his own studio there in 2004, developing an approach rooted in technological research, innovation, and a refined attention to proportion, touch, and atmosphere.

Over the course of his career, Williamson collaborated with respected international brands including Zanotta, Fredericia, De Padova, B&B Italia, Asplund, and David Design. He became especially known for upholstered pieces that feel both composed and inviting, with projects such as the William sofa for Zanotta helping define his reputation for elegant restraint and deep physical comfort. His work is remembered for bringing together British precision, Scandinavian sensitivity, and a quietly expressive modern language that feels both timeless and deeply livable. Zanotta states that he passed away in 2024.
