e15 was founded in 1995, taking its name from the London postal code of its first workshop, where Philipp Mainzer introduced a radical simplicity that contrasted sharply with the industrial aesthetics of the time. Early pieces such as the BIGFOOT table and the BACKENZAHN stool established the brand’s defining vocabulary: essential geometries, expressive grain, and the honest use of solid wood in its purest form. As the company grew and relocated to Frankfurt, Mainzer and art director Farah Ebrahimi expanded e15 into a holistic interior brand grounded in architecture, material clarity and cross‑disciplinary collaboration. Today the collection spans furniture, lighting and accessories developed with an international roster of designers and artists, from David Chipperfield to Stefan Diez, alongside reissues of modernist classics by Ferdinand Kramer and Richard Herre. With manufacturing anchored in skilled European workshops, e15 remains dedicated to sustainable production, durable quality and a design ethos that merges sculptural restraint with timeless presence.
