“Luminaire had a dream to host a revolutionary gala that would introduce their Miami contacts to some of the most important luminaries working in design today. The gala would take guests away to an enchanted place, infusing all five senses in a holistic environment of good design. The gala would open minds to the magical possibilities of the future and guests would share a passion to make the world a better place.

The Futurist Ball in March 1999 was the realization of this dream. In collaboration with Senzatempo, a 20th century design furniture in the art deco district of Miami Beach, Luminaire designed an astonishing environment where guests like Alberto Alessi, Ennio Capasa, Alberto Meda, Alessandro Mandini, Gaetano Pesce and Denis Santachiara could marvel in the history of 20th century design while sharing new ideas needed to change’s people’s lives through good design.
