At Boffi, good design is a way of life. Since its inception in 1934, founded by Piero Boffi, the Boffi brand has adapted itself to fluctuations in the design climate, assessing the needs of the consumer and crafting environments that are innovative, user friendly, and extremely beautiful, empowered by the visual poetry and contented utility of the extraordinary designers with whom they collaborate. Not only was Boffi the first manufacturing firm to design high quality, luxurious Italian kitchens equipped to soothe aesthetic ideals and exceed the deepest desires of a discerning public with built-in, integrated appliances, it also, since 1980 and under the direction of design icon Antonio Citterio, left a mark in the design community as a brand that elevates the bathroom to a sacred sanctuary of sublime reflection and subtle graces, with a collection of tubs, washbasins, and accessories that entice consumers with sleek, organic forms and marked tactility.

In 1989, Piero Lissoni, a remarkably gifted, award-winning designer whose works are celebrated globally, took over as the artistic director of Boffi, and alongside CEO Roberto Gavazzi, pioneered the brand to an international status by opening over 50 stores worldwide in the following decade and making Boffi the leading exporter of Italian kitchens, all replete with modern amenities, stunning geometries, and calming compositions, spaces that celebrate social communion and offer all that is needed for preparing food in a refined atmosphere of good design.

In 1995, Boffi became the only kitchen brand to be granted the Compasso d’Oro, the most prestigious Italian design award, for timeless designs that innovate and inspire. From historical design icons like Zaha Hadid and Joe Colombo, to the masters of design today, including Marcel Wanders, Naoto Fukasawa, Claesson Kovisto Rune, Claudio Silvestrin, Patricia Urquiola, Ludovica and Roberto Palomba, Davide Groppi, Michael Anastassiades, Nendo and more, Boffi showcases work by notable designers who create spaces that provoke the senses, realized in the over 25,000 square meters of production area in the furniture district of Brianza, with attention to innovation, sustainability, and the highest quality that elevates what it means to be “made in Italy.”
