Luminaire and Anke Loh shed good light on some major happenings in fashion and furnishings for Illuminate, an event that delighted all lovers of innovative design.

At Illuminate, Luminaire exhibited many of today’s most exciting and exhilarating furniture designs by Fabien Baron, the Campana brothers, Jasper Morrison and Marcel Wanders. Visitors had the opportunity to get up-close and personal with good design by participating in the evening’s silent auction.

The highlight of the event was an appearance by acclaimed fashion designer Anke Loh, whose “Dressing Light” exhibit has won worldwide attention. Her stunningly inventive designs explored the intersection of technology and aesthetic, featuring fabrics made of light.

“I spent a long time looking for the right technology to bring into my fashion. I tried optical fibers – even weaving them together with black cotton. But when I approached Philips and they showed me their Lumalive textiles I found something special,” explained Anke Loh.

At Illuminate, guests enjoyed an electrifying environment, complete with refreshments, music, and great design in varied permutations, experiencing how design is dynamically involved in one’s everyday life, enriching it and encouraging it to move toward the unexpected.

Luminex fabrics were provided by Roman Illumination & Design, Inc.
