Description
Takumi Shimamura combines 400-year old Japanese woodcutting techniques and historic kimono tapestry weaving with modern industrial processes to create the spectacularly thin Woodum range of wood placemats and coasters.
The soft and durable coasters are made of a thin sheet of sliced wood that is soaked in resin making it both highly waterproof and scratch-proof. Backed with non-woven and non-slip fabric, the sheet is also extremely flexible and will not break when bent.
The coasters retain the natural character of wood and remain natural in appearance, giving a foundation to the glasses on the table.

- A variety of wood types are used, allowing for the mix and matching a textures and colors on the table
- Waterproof and scratch resistant, the flexible coasters are suited for daily use
