Description
The Lukis Chair by Indonesian Abie Abdillah celebrates the relationship between the centuries-old tradition of rattan processing with fresh, contemporary design. This piece honors the craftspeople of Southeast Asia and their commitment to environmental responsibility – rattan, due to its rapid growth, is a highly sustainable material that lends itself to being use in many ways and techniques. In addition to the rattan seat and backrest, the structure is made of tropical rubber wood.
This handmade beauty features stems deliberately woven together with such precision, you'll find it hard to believe it wasn't made by a machine.
