Description
Modernizing a classic glass-blowing technique from the late 19th century, Studio Macura's Kap Glass Candle Holder utilizes silver glass with a stunning result. Silver glass is considered to be the first form of art glass where glass objects were created to be appreciated for their inherent artistic value as well as functional benefit. Kap revives this craft into a contemporary domestic object by creating a pure tabletop holder for taper candles and tea lights which resembles a drop of liquid silver thanks to its slightly inset base.
Round and soft, the form gives the impression of flotation above the tabletop surface. The double walls of the Kap Glass Candle Holder are blown, then coated on the inside with a liquid silvering solution and finally sealed.
Available as a tea light holder as well.
