Description
Capturing the purity and essence of minimalism, Piero Lissoni's Ile Sofa is a remarkable study in subtraction. Viewed as one of the designer's pinnacle pieces, Ile is reduced to only the essential lines, planes and forms. The steel base gives the seat plane the appearance of floating while adding a striking architectural aspect to the piece.
Seemingly without effort, the base supports the rectilinear cushions, arms and back rests which combine in an wide variety of compositions each one displaying an astute understanding of proportion, line and form. Ile is able to be configured as a linear sofa, an L-shaped configuration or daybed as well as a chaise; the combinations are endless.
