'We must become the change we want to see in the world'
- Gandhi

Luminaire X is an environment like no other. With an extraordinary selection of books, accessories, furniture, and breathtaking floral arrangements, Luminaire offers an environment where visitors can relax in the cutting-edge cinema lounge, sip a freshly brewed espresso, and absorb phenomenal art and design exhibitions.

On Saturday April 26th, from 6-9, Luminaire X went GREEN. In collaboration with the MAM Partners, Arquitectonica, smart car, and 'The Green Broker,' LuminaireX transformed into 'X-GREEN'.

Visitors learned how the future Miami Art Museum, designed by Luminaire favorites Herzog and De Meuron, will make green efforts a reality. One of the Architects from Arquitectonica discussed the landscape architecture of the project and the efforts they are making in green architecture. The Museum's three floors will house galleries, an education complex and offices that will float above the ground floor plaza giving the Miami backdrop as added value. The new museum, scheduled to open in late 2012 is slated to be 125,000 square feet located on the north side of Biscayne Bay in Museum Park.

On April 21st in Coral Gables, the smart 'fortwo' was introduced to Miami. To celebrate the launch of the greenest car in Miami, GREEN-X made 'fortwo' accessible to all guests, giving them the opportunity to sit inside the car and learn some green driving tips. In addition, Carl Hildebrand, The Green Broker, spoke to visitors about how they can improve their daily lives by living green.

During the event, guests participated in a raffle to win Bang & Olufsen headphones, a Lavazza Espresso Machine, and a gift certificate from Books & Books.

XGREEN enthused many visitors to think seriously about sustainable ways of living. Green design can help improve people's lives, and ensure that our children and our children's children can live in environments that are healthy, safe, and sustainable.
