Piero Gatti, Cesare Paolini and Franco Teodoro

A masterpiece of Italian design, the Zanotta Sacco beanbag chair debuted in 1968 and embodied the new freedom characteristic of design trends in the 60s and 70s. Starting with a revolutionary idea, a trio of young designers - Piero Gatti, Cesare Paolini and Franco Teodoro - arrived at Zanotta wishing to build furniture by deconstructing its form. Utterly simple and completely unstructured, Sacco conforms to the user's body through the use of tiny polystyrene pellets for the core. Decades have passed and Sacco remain a popular seating solution available in a range of covering for use indoors.
