Consisting of an aesthetic search for shape and material, Thierry Martenon's work focuses on the outline of his hand-crafted objects. Simple and pure lines endow the object with serenity while the surface treatment shows the craftsmanship of the work. Through the artist's precise knowledge of texture inducing-techniques, surface modification is implemented through meticulous use of a blow torch, chain saw, or acid. The work done on the material gives birth to a contrast between light and shadow.
